Why are you participating in the IRSP?
I applied for the research, because it offered me the possibility to conduct a research for a professional institution. Moreover, the topic of the research, start-ups, appealed to me since such an economic research-focus is slightly out of my comfort-zone, so to speak. Therefore, this research is a nice opportunity to broaden my horizons.

What do you like particularly about your specific research-topic?
As I have mentioned, I like that the topic is in a field that I have not researched before. This provides opportunities to learn new methods and broaden my horizons. Secondly, I believe Israel is an intriguing country both with regard to its history as to its high-end high-tech sector. The latter is of course the topic of our research.

What are you expecting from participating in the IRSP?
A: My expectations are twofold. Firstly, I expect to broaden my knowledge in a field that until recently I was not very experienced in. Secondly, I expect to improve my group-working skills and to learn from peer researchers whom all have different backgrounds / experiences.

Q8 – What is a quote that you really like/that you can relate to? (Please state the author if known, otherwise say author unknown)
“Una lingua diversa è una diversa visione della vita.” – “A different language is a different vision of life.” (Federico Fellini)

Why are you participating in the IRSP?
As my bachelor programme is coming to an end, I discovered that I was not done exploring my options for the upcoming years. I am not yet sure of the master I want to pursue – in what field, and whether this will be a research or 1-year master. This is why I opted for a position in IRSP as it is the only possibility of discovering the practicalities of research in IR in such an early stage of my studies with amazing partners.

What do you like particularly about your specific research-topic?
The Research for the Israeli Embassy appealed to me for two reasons. Firstly because of the focus on bilateralism, the link to the Netherlands, connecting with Israel and the contacts this research would bring about: with the Embassy, entrepreneurs, businesses, government institutions - very interesting to see so many actors involved (and to get to collaborate with them!). Secondly, the economic aspect really attracted me as I feel the economics in our (BA) programme are rather unrepresented.

What are you expecting from participating in the IRSP?
Experience, hard work, fun, bootcamps, organised or not-so-organised chaos, beer, travel (fingers crossed). Oh, and four amazing guys as my big brothers to help me, guide me, or to guide them myself, and have loads of fun with!

What is a quote that you really like/that you can relate to?
“We realize the importance of our voices only when we are silenced.” (Malala Yousafzai, I Am Malala)

Why are you participating in the IRSP?
To do something serious and challenging besides writing my master thesis

What do you like particularly about your specific research-topic?
I like this research because it is more economically orientated and the start-up topic is very relevant for the Netherlands these days.

What are you expecting from participating in the IRSP?
I hope to gain more knowledge concerning the start-ups system and learn and make friendships with new interesting people.

What is a quote that you really like/that you can relate to?
“Onderkenning van onwetendheid is het begin van wijsheid.” (Spinoza)

A team of people who prettify and beautify the already good-looking IRSP research

What is a quote that you really like/that you can relate to?
