Province of Groningen Baltics Research Team 2017-2018
Merle Kanngiesser
is: always right, yet no one ever knows it! loves: spending a lot of time with friends, being active and outside, especially for group activities like beach volleyball. She also really likes to travel and experience new cities and cultures and to appreciate them in ways that are only possible if you are actually there and talk to the people. Whenever she finds the time, she enjoys reading (she just finished the all time classic and arguably work of art "Lolita" and now she is reading a scandalous tell-all book about the Trump White House). believes: that research holds an incredibly important role in our world, since it is important to be curious and to thoroughly engage with specific fields and different view points. As a young researcher she is sure to offer the academic community valuable insights and new perspectives - apart from cheap labor of course. |
Torge Bartscht
is: a tidy, calm and sociable person and usually pays his bills on time! is passionate about doing research because: he is interested in getting new insights into topics he already knows something about and he likes how then, during the research process, his views on a specific topic usually groundbreakingly change. considers: Atonal Music Festival not the craziest, but the weirdest event he has ever been to. |
Gabriella Gricius
is: a Masters student and freelance writer with an unhealthy interest in Eastern Europe and all things security-related. loves: to to read, write, bake, practice and teach yoga, learn all of the languages and travel to all of the countries! works in her spare time with: the Public International Law and Policy Group and writes for Global Security Review, the World Literacy Foundation, Bad Yogi Magazine and Sub-Stances. |
