General information
IRSP was founded to grant students the possibility of using their theoretical knowledge in practice. IRSP aims to provide students with various types of research, resembling the variety of knowledge and interests that students of IR have. For students of IR participating in the IRSP is the ultimate chance to test their knowledge in practice and get in touch with future employees. By working together with the research partner, the research group and professors, students will be tested on knowledge, analytical and operational skills. The duration of the research is from January until the end of May. Joining the program entails the following activities:
- Introduction meeting with the IRSP and research groups
- Conducting research in group of four to six students
- Monthly meetings/contact with your research group and guiding professor
- Monthly meetings/contact with your Partner (company, organisation) and the research group
- Attendance at workshops (approximately three)
- Fieldtrip (If covid-19 allows us)
- Social activities
- Final presentation of the research to the Partner
- Final presentation of the research to the University
How/When to apply?
IRSP selects students by means of an interview where the student has the opportunity to show the board his or her motivation for the program. Students who would like to apply for the 2020 - 2021 program, have to fulfil to the following criteria:
Please note that your motivation is of significant importance.
- You are an IRIO 3rd-year Bachelor, Premaster or Master student at the University of Groningen.
- You passed the MRP paper, or the bachelor thesis.
- You obtained a minimum of 90 ECTS.
- You have sufficient knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.
