I am a third year IRIO student from Germany. International relations fascinates me because I get to study the interplay of various actors in an always changing environment. For me, the IRSP is a great way to gain hands on research experience on a topic, which has always interested me, and will eventually have a great impact on our futures.
Yannik Petry
As a Master student in International Relations and International Political Economy I am dedicating myself to all energy related topics, such as energy security, the impact of climate change and the significance of energy supply and interdependence to the functioning of democracies. IRSP and ECN are offering me the opportunity to research in a field which we are being confronted with on a daily basis.
Karlien de Boer
Since 2013 I have been studying International Relations in Groningen because I am interested in understanding the rapidly changing world around us. Since my traineeship in Brussels, I have been specifically interested in European energy policy such as the Emissions Trading System. The IRSP project offers me a great opportunity to bring these interests into practice and to gain hands on research experience.
Celine Brus
This is my fourth most likely last year into the the IRIO bachelor. Over the past years I have enjoyed the broad and interdisciplinary character of this study. Nevertheless recently I have found myself interested in environmental politics which today is in many ways closely related to energy policy and politics. Being part of the IRSP research team for ECN gives me the opportunity to further develop and deepen my interest and knowledge in a policy field that still has a long way to go.
Kalle Kivinen
During the past two years I have directed my studies more and more to learning more about the politics surrounding energy and the environment. Now that my bachelor’s degree is coming to an end, it has become clear to me that that is the direction I want to make my future studies in. The ECN project of IRSP has as such been a great opportunity to immerse myself in this interesting field and gain some real experience!
